NO MORE Same 'Ol, same 'Ol! (Go Kill Something, Get Healed, Go Kill Something
Else...etc) BBOOORRRIIINNNGGGG!!!! It was cool for awhile, but come on!
Can't someone do something a little different? Well, -I- did!
RockMe is a game where there are NO "Levels". NO "Killing" and best of all,
NO "Winners" or "Losers". EVERYONE who plays RockMe is a WINNER!
RockMe is based, instead, on "Popularity". You are a struggling musician
trying to "Make it" in the Music Biz! You put togeather (or join) a
band, do some recordings, play some Gigs, go on the road, etc.
But, along the way...there are many "Ups & Downs" (as you'll discover).
Setup.
======
I have seen alot of messages lately about some doors being hard to
setup & run. (I also notice that many of these are about doors that
I have setup & run without a problem. I just read the DOCs & usually
have not very many problems <g>)
But, anyhow...setting up this door is a "snap" as long as you take a few
minutes & read.
1. Create a directory for RockMe! (ex. C:\ROCKME)
2. Edit the ROCKME.CFG to suit your system (It is commented out, so you
shouldn't have many problems.)
3. Create a batchfile to run the door.
-Example is how I run it under TriBBS. Please consult your BBS DOCs
about how to run doors.
----- ROCKME.BAT ----
CD\ROCKME <- Change to the RockMe directory
ROCKME ROCKME.CFG <- Exe Name & Cfg File
CD\TRIBBS <- Return to BBS directory
BOARD <- Loads the BBS
---------------------
4. MULTI-NODES:
RockMe will run on a Multi-Node System. Just copy the ROCKME.CFG to
a new name & edit it for the new node. Also, you'll need to alter
the command line for each node:
Examples:
ROCKME ROCKME.CFG <- Sample Node 1
ROCKME ROCK2.CFG <- Sample Node 2
etc.
SPECIAL FILES:
==============
MAIN1.ANS/.ASC - MUST Reside in the door main directory. These are the
"Main Menu" screens. You MAY custom tailor these to your
system.
BADUSER.DAT - MUST Reside in the door main directory. This is an ASCII
text file of users you wish to "twit" out of the game.
1 entry per line (Use the User's Real Name).
* It's up to YOU *
==================
I am going to try to keep RockMe an inexpensive game to register. By
registering RockMe, I will see that you are interested in further
versions of this game. You will also help to encourage me to develop
it further.
Also, your users will appreciate you. Why? Well, the unregistered
version doesn't save the players info. So, until it's registered
everone starts out as a new player regardless of how often they
have played or how far they have gotten.
Therefore, the cost to register this game is a mere $10.00. The more
registrations I get, the quicker (and better) the versions will be!
Please see ORDER.FRM for the info.
